Ancona vs. Exchequer Leghorn. This is my way on how to tell the difference.Thank you. I don't know enough to say, that's why I asked. I just know they have white earlobes and a similar look. And they seem far more common in hatcheries so I didn't know if it was more likely to end up with a hatchery quality one than a exchequer leghorn.
The first one looks like it has white earlobes, so I would guess some kind of leghorn. I’m not sure if mottled leghorns are a thing. The second one is an EE.I am thinking of getting these 2 hens and trying to figure out what breed they are! Can you help me?
*happy dance*I think that @Silkie Princess nailed it.
Thanks. That's the best example!Ancona vs. Exchequer Leghorn. This is my way on how to tell the difference.
See my post above. I know its more "rare", but not rare enough to become something its not.Just what I was going to say.
Exchequer Leghorns are rare and pricey. Anconas are available from most hatcheries.
Keep in mind that the Ancona pictured is show quality (and may be a bantam, too), so a hatchery Ancona could have less uniform mottling.Ancona vs. Exchequer Leghorn. This is my way on how to tell the difference.
