What Breed of Chickens Do You Have?

Jealous! Those are two of my dream breeds.

They are both interesting, fun birds! I especially love the Anconas, I had one before that was the best layer EVAH! She was friendly yet wild as a March hare, went over the fence every day and traipsed around the five acres I live on. I miss Gina so much!

Dark Brahmas are the only breed that I would like to add for now. I’m planning to add more colors of silkies and cochins.

I used to have dark Brahmas I got from a breeder. One got killed by a weasel, the other had a neurological birth defect, & was given away to someone who was able to give her more care then I could offer.

How did you like them?

I have:
1 year old flock-
8 Barred Hollands Including "Randy" the Roo
5 Naked Neck mixes that lay large tan or green eggs
2 Brown Leghorns - egg insurance!
2 White rocks - large brown eggs
1 Brown sex link - darkest egg I get

Next years flock- includes cockerels that are too young to decide the keepers:
8 RI Red
4 Red Dorkings - rare and cool but 3 are cockerels
3 Cuckoo Marans - dark eggs
3 Welbars - dark eggs from auto-sex breed

Any takers for cute Red Dorking cockerels?!
