And those seem to be common at ours too except our store never has ducks. They also get a lot of ISA Browns and Wyandottes. Plus EE and lately, Asian Black chickens, and they get broilers too

I am thinking about getting chicks at TSC vs. online. The breeds we are looking at are
Easter Egger
Silver Laced Wyandotte
Lavender Orpington
Speckled Sussex
Black Austrolorp
Buff Orpington
Barred Rock
Cuckoo Maran
We just don’t know what they will have.

Did you skip over all the posts about this being a long dead thread from 2015?

If you want specific breeds, make an order with a reputable hatchery (like Meyer) and buy sexed pullets. You are way better off that way. When you go to the local farm stores, it's a total crap shoot. You never know what you are going to walk out the door with. They mix up their chicks all the time and straight run gets in with the sexed pullets. It's my firm opinion that SR is 95% cockerels that the hatcheries send out as SR. True SR is 50/50.
