What breed of goat is this?

All the other goats were VERY large. Yeah I am going to neuter my buckling because he is a pet, however I thought we might breed her once anyways I would just have to find a stud, it would be fun and a learning experience.
She is 10 weeks old.
Also username, thanks for all the great advice you give, its nice to be in contact with somebody who has probably been there and done that!

Yes, I would definitely say in that case she is predominantly alpine, which means she will make a nice little (big) home milker for you when she grows up. I'd definitely suggest breeding her

when she's ready - depends on the individual animal and her growth rate but between 8 and 15 mths you can probably breed her, there is bound to be a breeder around you who will give you a stud service for a minimal fee.

Your little toggy guy will make a fantastic wether friend for her.

At 10 wks I'm assuming she was already weaned off the bottle?

And yeah, I've been there done that and bought the t-shirt to prove it lol and I still love all things goat. At times its frustrating, heartbreaking, painful, challenging, depressing, boring and maddening, but breeding goats is something that takes hold of you, gets into your blood and never lets go of you

She looks Alpine ish to me. Very cute. Do you want her to have a "J" name? or one to match Oliver? There's always Olivia..lol..Siofra means sprite, which is similar to the meaning of Oliver...I always thought Esmerelda would be a cool goat name. Paige and Sindri both mean small...Lark is a cute name...so is Trinket...Sadie....
Here's a list of names popular at the same time Oliver was popular. http://www.baby2see.com/names/1890s.html

We have a girl cat named Jasper. She's actually my DH's cat. It kind of suits her in a way though. You could just leave her name as Jasper.

Very cute!
However, do you have her on a lead or rope??

That's what it looks like in the picture. Please don't think you can keep a goat on a leash!!! It's very dangerous.

I hope you have a fenced in area for her and her little buddy.

Really??? I can't keep a goat on a rope? Won't they be safe from dogs and coyotes on a rope?

Yes they have a fenced yard. But I like them up near the house with me when I am doing yard work. Ollie stays around but the new one is skittish. So yes I stake them WHEN I am outside with them.

in my exhausted state yesterday, I didn't realize that my joking in my last post may have came off as rude, I didn't mean it to sound condescending. I do realize that there are some people out there who might think that goats can be kept on a leash. I am not one of them.
Sorry Blondie if you took it the wrong way. It was not my intention to come off as rude.
