What breed of quail is this??

something killed my poor quail, took its head off , body left in cage, thinking its a cat??? Anyway my DH is devasted he really like him. So is it for sure a Manchurian Coturnix quail??? I want to buy eggs to surprise my DH. Any help would be appreciated

may have been a hawk took the head. something with hands or paws would have been able to take more.

here is a decent site for seeing all the "colors" side by side. some names may be contested. but again, to see them side by side, I like this sites layout.

manchurians and italians are often both referred to as eta "Goldens".

Definately male Manchurian (sometimes called golden Italian) they are lovely to keep if you get him a few hens to play with!
