What breed of yours lays the most eggs?

My RIR's were my first layers followed by my BO's within a week. They are the most consistant layers and I can predict when they will lay nearly every day.

Next in line are my BR's, white wyandottes and then the Cuckoo Marans.

I am not entirely sure my partridge rocks and black jersey giants are laying every single day. It seems to me those are just now gearing up with the laying of eggs at the age of 35+ weeks.

Our Black Australorp mix hen lays pretty much every day all year; a short break earlier this winter, now she's back at it. Our EE hen and White Leghorns also are good.

I have roughly (because they don't stand still to let me count):

20 Black Sex Links
20 RIR
40 Marans
10 Speckled Sussex
10 Dark Cornish
10 Jersey Giants
20 Barred rocks

It's obviously impossible to tell for certain which egg comes from which chicken, but in general I find the Black Sex Links to be the best layers. Several of them are kicking out double and triple yolkers as well, which we love for our own breakfast.

I think they are all fine layers. You can tell the Cornish eggs, because they're more medium/large size than large to jumbo. The Sussex lay pale brown eggs which are of good size. After that, though, it's pretty hard to tell who's laid what. Some of them are kicking out very pretty speckled eggs, too. The marans are just coming into lay now, and I've found some dark and speckled peewee eggs laying about on the ground.

I have only four girls, two barred rocks, two buffs.
the 'ugly" buff lays every am..
the two barreds everyday , in the am , big buff misses a day every week.
so four chickens, four eggs a day since October . Except when we had snow, then just one buff and barred layed everyday for three days
the buff eggs are now bigger than the barreds.

I am very happy with the amount of eggs I have from my feed store girls.

My 2 Rir's are laying now. 1st one started laying on Jan. 2 and took the day off yesterday. 2nd one started the 8th and got her 4th one today. They are sorta small 1.5oz. I hope they get larger. My Barred Rocks are squatting buy haven't laid yet.

We have 3 Buff Orps, 3 RIRs and 3 Doms and average 7.5 eggs a day since they started laying at 6 months. The girls are 8 months now and the eggs are getting bigger. I don't keep track of who lays what but am very satisfied with the amount of eggs I get.
