This is my Rooster, I'm just wondering what he might be, or be mixed with.

Thank you in advance.

Oh wow...not even sure what that is, but I think i've heard of it. I'm new to chickens, so it hadn't crossed my mind...just thought that's how some rooster's legs are. Oh boy. He came to me like that.

Okay don't panic too much. Does it look like crusty hard stuff on his legs? If so just start greasing or oiling his legs everyday. Don't pick the stuff off. Let it do it's own thing. Problem solved. If any of your other chickens legs look like his then do the same thing to them. You can use vaseline, mineral oil, vegetable oil, heck I even know some people that use Pam cooking spray. This is not anything that is going to kill him tomorrow or anything but it can cause him problems later and even deform his feet to the point that you have to put him down. He is a beautiful bird. I could be totally wrong since the pic is not a close up of his feet and that wasn't your original question either. So sorry for taking this off topic.

Anyone else have a thought about breed?

If that isn't feathers on his legs, then he has a really bad case of scaly leg mites. There are quite a few threads here that give advice on how to treat it. Basically it's soak his legs and use a soft brush to scrub them well, then coat with something oily or greasy to smother the mites.

He's very pretty, but I don't have a clue what breed he might be.

Nope, no feathers on his legs. He is my first Rooster, but we've acquired more..but those are kept separately with the other bantams. This one is with 6 hens...no, I haven't seen any scales on their legs.

I just read about Adams flea spray, I've got a bottle here, should I give that a try?

And yes, he does have ALOT of scales...but like I mentioned, I just thought it was how some roosters are, I'm so new to roosters.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, I probably would have found out about it somehow..but it may have taken some time, or I would have been totally clueless.

Adam's flea spray is very controversial and in my honest opinion I would urge you to not use that and do a quick search here for scaly leg mites. Tammyd57 gave you awesome advice on the treatment of scaly leg mites.
