What Breed(s) Do I Have?

Donrae, I took those pictures yesterday. I don't know who's laying the eggs we've gotten, but we've gotten an egg per day since we got the birds.

Lol..Black Tufted duck with alopecia. Poor thing. Get it some Rogaine..hehe..Kidding. Seriously though, it's poof/crest might fill in a bit as it grows.

The brown duck doesn't seem to mind...so I'll wait and see what happens.

Lol. I used to have a crested mallard. He was a sweet little thing. He loved people and eventually took to following them around the neighborhood, especially mothers with toddlers or babies in their strollers. He hated the neighbors dog and followed it through the doggy door at their house one morning and chased the dog around the house all day until the neighbors got home from work and let him out..

He loved my mom and would try and follow her to work. She named him Howard. Sadly he followed my mom out to the garage one morning and the garage door had an automatic closer and my mom didn't see he had been pinned under the door by the closer when she was driving away in her car and so, poor Howard died. Poor Howard.

Enjoy your duckies.

Woah. Mine are not THAT friendly, or aggressive (thank goodness). They easily avoid being caught by my daughter (who will be 4yrs-old next month). I hope to get them comfortable enough, with us, that we can catch/herd them easier...but for now, I am happy with their behavior.

"Fred" found her way up on to the roof of the coop this evening. From this spot she was about 3ft away from the fence between our yard and two of our neighbors' yards. If she were so inclined, she could escape. Not sure how I feel about this. Luckily I talked her down without issue. Whew!
