What breed/sex might I have?

Ya the earliest I have ever read about is 4/4.5 months and they are always producing birds. Lay ealry and often, like Rhode Island Reds, sex link (golden comet or black sex link), and leghorns. I don't know if there are any that lay earlier. I know production birds are highly valued for that reason when choosing your breed, now if only the multi colored layers were like that. My parents big light blue layer (Easter Egger) took almost 10 months before she layed her first egg, and lays twice a week if we're lucky. Her counter parts (another Easter Egger who laid small light green eggs, two Rhode Island's, and three Australops) all started between 4-6 months!

They will start laying IMO at about 3 months. Backyard chicken eggs have more vitamins in them and do better baking. You will never go back to store bought eggs. Get you a whole bunch of chickens and trade with your cousin. Once you get everything set up it does not matter if you have 3 chickens or 33. They like to eat bugs and weeds from your yard, and are low maintenance once you have bought what you need. They take care of their own babies usually. Chickens are great entertainment.

I want these kind of chickens...
I hate waiting the 6 or so months for eggs!

Where did you buy yours?

I think that's kinda like that egg that hatches at fourteen days

The chicken was setting on it for a week before it was pulled and sold .
