what breed/sex?

Hi I got this chick a couple of weeks ago. Any ideas what he/she might be? The guy I got her from thought she might be a buff orpington. Thanks!

How old? At the moment, without knowing age, it's looking like a pullet.

Depending on the age, it appears to be a pullet, how many weeks have you had it and how old was it when you got it? Can you tell what type of comb it has? It looks to have a single comb in that pic. Looks like it has yellow legs from the pic. What color are it's legs from what you can see? Do you know what different breeds the man has? If he has multiple breeds, one of his roos could have gotten into another pen.

Looks like a pullet to me, and a mix.

He had ordered a mix of chicks from a hatchery but they were all pure bred. He said he had buff orpingtons, production reds, and some others he couldn't remember in the mix. This chick has a single comb, yellow legs, and really loose feathering that is reddish/buffish. There are some dark speckles in it too. She is really sweet and laid back. Especially compared to the dark cornish I got with her! Thanks for all the info!

Yellow legs = New Hampshire or Production Red, basically the same these days


If it had Orpington in it, it would have white legs.
