I had decided on names, but then my son says at dinner tonight, "Marmalade is a good name for a duck." And I'm like, dammit - yes it is.

Now I gotta rethink the names.

I choose themes. My chickens are flowers. My cats are artists. My ducks will be fruit - lol: Fig, Clementine, Persimmon, and Mango. Or Apricot. Or Marmalade.

When it comes to White Layers, i can only come up with names for soft fluffy things, like Cottonball, Fluffy, Flaushi, Plushi…

I do the very same thing! I call it the duck has to earn her/his name.
Nothing worse than naming a duck »Daisy« and it turned out to be a serial rapist drake…
