Noob question: Can I take their food and water out at night? I'm worried they'll get wet and get chilled.
Ok, thanks! It is elevated, but I made the holes in the lid too big. They climb on ot and their feet fall in. So silly. I'll make a new one now.I always left food and water available at all times. I would elevate the waterer so they could still get their heads in but it wasn't easy to stumble into it. They are pretty good at finding the heat lamp when they get wet. Whatever you do, do not let them have access to food without water as they can choke.
They need food and water all night. They are growing super fast and need access to it at all times. As long as they have heat they should be ok. If they get a little wet, it is not a big deal. If the whole cage got wet, that would be a problem. But they are too small to knock over water dishes at that age.Noob question: Can I take their food and water out at night? Good thing I've been storing up plastic containers in preparation for duckies!
