What Breed To Buy!!!!

I've only raised Sebastopol Geese and really love them
and have had very few that are overly aggressive or loud.
You will find aggressive or bad apples in any breed.
Having said that I would say go with the breed that appeals
to you then buy from a reputable breeder, but for a beginner
I would recommend Sebastopols, Amercians or Pilgrims
as they are suppose to be less aggressive than other breeds
like Chinese, African or Toulouse.

I have chinese geese but only females. One attacks my sock wanting me to pick her up and snuggle. The other doesn't want me to pet her. I think I might try buffs this spring. Geese are much friendlier than ducks! I love having the baby geese follow us around the yard.

Might want to check out the Pilgrim geese, they are a nice, smaller breed. Goslings can be sexed by their color too. They are kinda rare and hard to find and really need more people raising them to help keep the breed thriving. Geese are nice to have around...
