Years pass by, and can't still get over her. Frendliest hen I ever had. Too sad that she got sick and died. I used to carry her in my hands and let her sit on my right hand and then I was petting her back with my left hand. I fed her of my hand with grains. Today I have only one friendly rooster(out of four) who let me pet his back only once or twice and runs away. Hens rarely allow me. She used to come into me and was ready at any time. She even sometimes sat in my lap.
I thought she was a barred rock but I noticed that she has a distinctive brown color pattern around her neck that barred rocks don't have.

Hello.. what a beautiful little lady you had!!! I'm so sorry for your loss... I definitely agree she looks a lot like a Barred Rock ...my Barred Rock is named Moon Pie and she's the sweetest thing ever.. but you're right the brown on her neck makes me think that she isn't a Barred Rock I honestly am not sure what breed she is but I just wanted to say hello and tell you how beautiful I thought she was.. I will continue researching and let you know if I find anything!!

Here is Lola. She got sick and died last December. She was very friendly and got broody ones and raised two chicks. I always wondered if she was a breed or a mixed chicken. Sorry you lost yours too
