It looks like broiler to me.This chick was labeled as a bantam but I know that it is not. It is about 13days old.
No others of this age. I have two two year olds - an orpington roo and barred Plymouth Rock hen. By memory of them as chicks, this current chick seems too big.Looks like a meat bird to me too. There are some people that raise them as pets but you have to take special care that they don’t eat too much or they won’t live up to a year. I could be wrong though. Do you have others of the same age to compare size with?
Looks alot like a meat bird to me. You weren't sold the correct chick. Bugger that.View attachment 2045489

I can accept whatever it turns out to be. I just want the chick to be healthy. It makes me upset animals are bread to be "meat" with no other option in life due to that breeding. We will give this chick a chance and see how it goes. My daughter loves her little bird. I will need to find out how to raise a meat bird as a pet.Looks alot like a meat bird to me. I can understand why people get upset about animals being used for 'meat', it makes me upset too. Good on you for saving a little chicken's life, I'm sure it appreciates what you did. Really hope the little sweet heart survives a long life.I can accept whatever it turns out to be. I just want the chick to be healthy.
