This chick was labeled as a bantam but I know that it is not. It is about 13days old.

Looks like a meat bird to me too. There are some people that raise them as pets but you have to take special care that they don’t eat too much or they won’t live up to a year. I could be wrong though. Do you have others of the same age to compare size with?
No others of this age. I have two two year olds - an orpington roo and barred Plymouth Rock hen. By memory of them as chicks, this current chick seems too big.

I can accept whatever it turns out to be. I just want the chick to be healthy. It makes me upset animals are bread to be "meat" with no other option in life due to that breeding. We will give this chick a chance and see how it goes. My daughter loves her little bird. I will need to find out how to raise a meat bird as a pet.

I can understand why people get upset about animals being used for 'meat', it makes me upset too. Good on you for saving a little chicken's life, I'm sure it appreciates what you did. Really hope the little sweet heart survives a long life.

It can be done. Ration their feed and lots of exercise. Also heat is a big factor. Extreme temperature highs can kill them if they can't get cooled down. Shady spots with fans or misters help. It'll never live to be ten or likely even five years old. But you can give it a couple good years hopefully.
