could it be an ameraucuana? The feed store told me they get their chicks from Hoover, do they sell mixes? I've always gotten my chicks from Cackle so I'm not all that familiar with Hoover.

nope, yellow legs. Not Ameraucuanas eitherHoover sells many hybrid layers, including olive eggers.
Your chicks have yellow legs, so I think Sussex is doubtful.
last I looked they do in fact sell olive eggers, and their catalog says, or used to say, that one of the crosses they use includes the welsumer to get the olive eggs. The feed store told me they get their chicks from Hoover, do they sell mixes? I'm very stumped lol. Do you think olive egger?I don't see brown leghorn.
Yeah, I'm pretty upset about it (towards the feed store), that i have to guess what they are when they aren't what i bought, but I'll love them anyway, just would at least like to know what i have. They're Eggers of some sort, look to have Cream Legbar in them at some point. I wouldn't be surprised if they were Olive Eggers. Regardless, they are not a purebred, just a designer mutt
Since Leghorns lay white eggs and Legbars lay sky blue, if she's laying olive eggs, she has a brown egg layer in her lineage Very likely a Welsummer Pretty girl!I agree on Olive egger. She looks just like my Penny (avatar) did as a chick, like a little chipmunk. I believe she’s a cross of Legbar and Leghorn and believe she came from Hoover as well, she came from TSC. Your babies are so cute!!!
Thank you!!! Whatever she is mixed with I love it Her eggs are a light minty green and not really an “olive” color. I guessed maybe crossed with leghorn because they’re HUGE eggs, poor girlSince Leghorns lay white eggs and Legbars lay sky blue, if she's laying olive eggs, she has a brown egg layer in her lineage Very likely a Welsummer Pretty girl!
Very cool! Legbars are actually know for their odd egg shape, I don't believe every single Legbar lays eggs like this, but many lay large eggs that are almost round! Mine layed very distinctive eggs compared to my Easter Eggers. I bet that's where she's getting that trait from. Legbars also very good layers like Leghorns because they were originally derived from them! You're lucky with the mint green eggs, such a special girl!Thank you!!!
