So I got eggs off ebay. Some bantam cochins and some silkies. 8 hatched out. 1 has 5 toe's but looks nothing like a silkie. Any guesses as to what breed it may be. Cochins don't have 5 toes.

Thank you. your probably right. It's feathers look like they are frizzled a little.
The feathers are smooth.

Depending on what parent was the Silkie, it could be sexlinked by skin color.

If it was fathered by a Silkie, & the hen was a breed that was white, or yellow skinned, all females will have black skin, while males would have white, or yellow skin.

If it were the opposite order, then it could be 50-50 with both genders, if not them having patchy skin.

Hey all. I'm hoping someone can help me figure out the breed of my littlest fluff butt. It doesn't show well in pictures, but she is about half the size of the others that I got with her. She us from Murray McMurray hatchery if it helps. She was my free surprise chick. I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but she has NO tail feathers. And no, they haven't been pulled out. She just doesn't have them. Lol
Thanks in advance!

Ironically enough, it appears to be a Silver Phoenix :)

He's also a cockerel ;) A female would have a salmon breast!
Lol Oh man. I was hoping he was a she. Lol We have 19 hens, 1 Bielfelder roo and now this surprise one. Lol Do you think that a flock this size will be okay with 2 roos?
These are all the same age, but this is my first time with roos in the mix. I've always just done hens before.
TIA

I wouldn't worry too much. That's about ten hens per rooster which is a great ratio to prevent overmating. As long as both roosters are tolerant of each other I would assume it will be fine! :)
