this is what theor feathers are starting to look like they all have white spots on theor heads

I'd say barred rock chicks,but I'm so brand new...I just read and research and read some more. I'm sooo addicted after my first and only so far hatch from incubator...my family think I'm crazy I just love chickens now!!! A newfound love I didn't know was there until I saw their lil beaks pippin thru the shells

I've been reading as much as I can as well I can't wait till they are a little bigger and hopefully try and identify what they are crossed with. I hope they look more barred rock !

This rooster does not look like a pure barred Rock, he looks like a mix. The rules of sexing barred birds (darker legs are pullets, smaller, tighter headspots are pullets) only apply to pure barred birds. So, all bets are off here, even if he were pure mixing him with non-barred hens would throw those rules out the window.

Ty,and that's what I thought with the chicks I am really curious of the chick that came from this roo too,same hatch as little rock chicks,but this chick I'm dealing of has copper colors :/ I had s diff roo beau,but the ^ roo starved him I think I didn't know till too late that beau was t drinking or eating .i moved him and he quitly died the next morning I'll attach the mystery chick pic next

how are your little surprise chicks fairin?
Are they looking more like Australorps or barred rocks or something else?

I'm afraid out of 7 chicks I'm stuck with 5 Roos :/

this is what they are looking like so far. looks like I have a rooster thats the one in the back his comb is wide and bubbly. they have white in there feathers for sure
