What breeding projects are you working on or planning to work on?

I've got one project started and a couple of others in the works. Right now I have six Silkie X EE pullets that I'm keeping for broody hens; I kept both of their brothers and plan to breed them back to their sisters and see what we get. I want a smallish broody hen (bigger than banty, smaller than a Cochin) with regular feathers, not Silkie feathering. They also have pea combs (a plus) and lay green eggs (also a plus!). Most of the six young hens are broody right now; I'm not letting them keep any eggs since I don't want any more crossbred chicks this year (have some other things to work on first), but I think I'll get them some meat chicks from the feed store to raise, or they are just going to sit there being broody until I let them hatch something out! Their EE mothers hatched them out, so they got broody genes from both sides.

Next project is the Salmon Faverolles. I was going to try to make Mille Fleur Salmon Faverolles (LF), but have decided that it's going to be hard enough just to get the Salmon Faverolles consistently up to where they should be, without adding any other breeds in there!

And then I'm getting some Mille Fleur Leghorns, and hopefully a few Buckeye chicks, from Sand Hill Preservation Center (I think this week!). Depending on how many Buckeyes I get, I'll have to decide whether to cross them into the Leghorns to make more of a dual-purpose breed, or just keep both breeds separate. I've always loved the Mille Fleur coloring, just wanted it in something more useful than a tiny little bantam.
