What I'm doing with my silkie cross project is...
I crossed splash silkies with a black Ameraucana male, all the offspring are blue with smooth feathers, a half-crest, silkie comb, 5 toes and feathered shanks. I will cross this first generation together, and keep any silkie feathered chicks. Of those with silkie feathers, I will then breed them back to an Ameraucana male, and then do it all again. Eventually breeding out all the Silkie traits except for the feathering. It's going to take a while.

I would LOVE to see pics of the standard silkies!!! They would be too cool. I am currently on the lookout for a LF project but can't decide on a breed!
