What breeds for Cornish X's

The trouble with breeding a Cornish X is that they are already a hybrid. Anything you breed with them is gonna be like a X X or something

If I were you, I would eat the 12 week old Cornish X's that you kept, and try breeding different chickens. Here is the meat bird thread I think was alluded to earlier:

Cornish X are white cornish rooster over a white rock hen. They are a mutt chicken. They are not a pure breed. With great care some people have managed to get them to live about a year old - but that is not the norm. If you do get eggs they will not hatch out the same as the chicken that laid them. They are a genetic cocktail and you never know what exactly will pop out.

I wouldnt bother trying to breed my own,I can buy them here (in season of course) at the local farm supply store for 85 cents each,I mean why go through the hassle when I can get them that cheap..

I will just add the caveat that the "Cornish" and "Rock" used to make the hybrid broilers look little (or nothing) like the Cornish and Plymouth Rock 'purebred' chickens we see. It's more an allusion to which breeds were initially used (40-50 years ago) as the basis for breeding larger and faster growing broilers.
