Hey there! I was told to expect muscovies from two eggs that were due to hatch on June 7th.
The only problem is.. They hatched on Saturday, day 28 of incubation. I am assuming they're not Muscovies. Do you have any idea what breed of ducks these two could be?

This one is all black (has a pink lower beak)

This one is black and yellow with multicoloured feet and beak.

This one I was told is a Rouen and hatched on day 28, but the colouring seems too light to be a Rouen.. The duckling that's sitting on her is purebred Rouen, for a colour comparison. Is she just a really light colour variation of the Rouen? Have you ever seen this before??

Thanks in advance!

Could be crosses
Also how old are they in those pics.

Lighter colour forms are possible but usually from crossing non pure mums and dads -or from different colour standards of same breed with species such as calls

Here are my guesses:
Duck 1 - Cayuga (though I think they generally have all dark beaks as well...). If he ends up with an upright body shape, could be black runner
Duck 2 - Magpie?
Duck 3 - Kind of looks like a Rouen crossed with a blue swedish...

I'm thinking that the all black one is a black Call. She's a lot smaller than the others and has a very short beak and round face.
I was thinking that number two is either a magpie or Ancona.
And I have no clue about the last one.. But I'm now starting to think she might be a Blue Swedish.
I might have to wait a few months before I know :/

1st- Black call or Cayouga?¿

2nd- Magpie or maybe Muscovy but probs not muscovy

3rd- Blue Swedish

You should ask the person you got them from about them and see what kind they have. also, some are probably not purebreds and are crosses

They are very cute and def mixes, not muscovies though.. Moscovies take a little bit longer to hatch out.

I contacted the guy who sold me the eggs, and he swears he only owns Rouens. The muscovies came from his friend, and he says that his friend only owns muscovies. I'm thinking that isn't the case, because they don't look like muscovies to me. And they hatched far too early to be muscovies.

I just remembered that Call ducks are supposed to hatch at 26 days, so I don't think the black one is a Call duck. Maybe a Cayuga?
