What Breeds would you choose?

I'm getting some hatching eggs from a farm nearby, only $8/dozen, will keep me amused for a bit

they have a bunch of breeds to choose from, would most likely be all mixed breeds since the roosters are in with everyone, but I can choose which eggs I want- so at least i know what mom is.

Large Fowl
Maran
Welsummer
Leghorn
Polish
Rocks (White, gold penciled, silver penciled)
Ameraucana
Langshan
Favorelle
Wyandotte (Gold Laced, Silver Laced, Silver Penciled, Columbian)

Bantam
Mille Fleur D'uccle
Porcelain D'uccle
Frizzle
Cochin

which ones would you choose? i already have a fizzle and a cochin, i think the D'uccles are really pretty, are they friendly? I mainly need friendly ones since they'd be around kids until i sold them. also ones that are easier to tell boy vs. girl lol! thanks

Marans are gentle, but harder to sex. Ameracaunas same way. I'd likely get Rocks and Faverolles, though i am not positive on temperaments with those. I know Leghorns are very flighty, as are most bantams that I have ever seen.

i would just take 12 large fowle eggs so at least the hen u hatch well lay eggs

Some of them, like the marans, I could see how they could tell but I don't see how they could tell all the others apart. I mean how do you tell a rock egg from a wyandotte?

Wyandottes are pretty docile and easily handled. The Americaunas are sometimes docile too and make blue eggs.

I'd go with the colored egg layers, but that's my kink.
What breed are the roos? Might want to get eggs from matching female with the hope of having purebreed offspring.
