What bug is on the outside of my coop??

I still haven't found out what kind of "mites" I have in my Enclosure. Been to the Dept of Health, Dept of Ag & the Bug guy at the university ... It's a mite of some kind, not bird mite (thankfully).

First discovered them in Aug 2017 crawling up my legs! Not found on my girls, only on the ground, walking in their Enclosure which is DLM/white shavings I'd see them crawling on my rubber boots. Sprayed the whole Enclosure & girls with Permethrin, still there. Sprayed with Neem Oil, still there. Sprayed with Insecticidal Soap, still there. Sprinkled DE, Poultry Dust & Sevin, still there. Finally found what works, alcohol or Raid but they never went away, just less of them.

I can now walk in & not find any on my boots but find them collected in the underside corners of the plastic dog bowl I use for their FF. So when I pick up their bowl, I turn it upside down & spray with alcohol .... Kills them instantly. It could be "good" mites but it still creeps me out, hate bugs. Maybe I should leave them alone, they don't bite & but just knowing they're there bugs me.

They are teeny - tiny specks of straw colored yellow, sorry don't have a clear pics ...

All those aphids had two little horns that stick out on either side of the rear end. But OP's photo, those little guys don't have little butt spikes it looks like...

Based on your observation, I am probably wrong.

Mites have 8 legs while insects have 6. I can only count 6 legs.

Agreed, they are not termites. They are not aphids. The tiny little black dots beside the clearly visible insects look like they may be the juvenile stages of the insects in the first picture. I believe they are NOT stink bugs. Stink bugs, at least the ones I am familiar with have a flattened body, a distinctive body shape, and a very hard exo skeleton. These look like a rather soft insect.

While I've never encountered juvenile stink bugs. It was my guess because of the body shape. I wouldn't think a clutch would vary in color like those...so I'm really uncertain as to what they are
After i read aphids i assumed as much because they do look eerily similar to the pic. Maybe they don't develop those back "thorns" until they are mature?? My SO says beetle.

I googled it and those points are prominent even as youngsters, so not aphids

Can someone please tell me what kind of bug this is?? They are on the outside of he coop for now, tiny things about the air of a pen point. I checked one bird no bugs on her. This is my first year with chickens and it is winter here in MD. View attachment 1249151

Hmm, well I've spent about 2 hours looking at MD bugs beetles spiders invasive species....

The only thing I can guess is maybe a tiger beetle. They're endangered. It's highly unlikely unless you have your coop near a river or beach.

My understanding is that beetles start as grubs, and once they mature, they will have two pairs of wings ( one hard pair as a protective shell, one soft pair for flying)

I don't think they are beetles.
