Hi guys, I have a quesion. There is a muscovy duck that I call Nanny, I will be moving in June to Texas and will probably visit sometimes. Nanny is a wild muscovy, not really the Wild Muscovy, but she is domestic, she is in the wild life. She gets along with humans. Nanny must be around 5 years old. I have been living for 3 years in this neighborhood and when I came she had 18 ducklings and she didn't seem to be a young muscovy. I know thats her becuz of the way she looks and is. In 2011 Nanny got attacked by an animal. It left her spine and left wing croocked. I noticed there had to be something wrong with her becuz she wouldnt fly, her tail is croocked. After this accident I have never seen her fly again. When ever the males bother her she runs. She doesnt fly for her life, she RUNS, or if in the water she dives. I was thinking if there is a way that someone can help Nanny ( a MUSCOVY, as I know are HATED.) or keep her. Nanny is an injured animal, she is handicapped, she cant live in the wild life or she can die. When ever Nanny has ducklings I do my best to help her protect them becuz its hard for her to defend her ducklings if she cant fly. I was thinking if I can get permission from Florida to take her with me. But how? If no one wants Nanny, I do! She gets along with me :) she's sooooo sweet!

If you can catch her, I think you can keep her. Someone may correct me here, but if she's domestic, I don't see why you couldn't catch her and take her with you. Muscovies are a domestic breed, so as long as where you're going doesn't have a law against poultry, I don't see why you couldn't take her along.
