What can or can't "Organic" chicken have and still be organic?

What must be avoided so as to be considered organic? I know there are organic feeds available. I assume medicated starter feeds are a no go? What about vitamin supplements? If the chicks get sick, are any medications at all allowable and the chickens still be considered organic? Are electrolytes added to water OK?

There are two types of eggs (aside from store bought eggs). Free-range eggs are from hens that free-range or have daily access to outdoors. Organic eggs are from hens raised without steroids, pesticides, fungicides, etc. Organic free-range eggs are a mixture of both. To answer your question, medicated starter feed isn't recommended for chicks raised to lay eggs labeled as "Organic". Same with vitamin supplements.
