what can u tell me about terryain?

i have a chick that is always sleepy and it also does different stuff that i can't explain.
i called a chicken person also who i bought them from and he said to mix an powder antibiotic in their water called terryain.
what can u tell me about it?
have u ever used it be4?

It is called Terramycin.

I would use 1 teaspoon per 20 oz. I would put it in a coke bottle and shake well. Once you mix it up , you need to use it within 24 hours. It definitely works. Our rooster was really sick for over 2 months. I looked all over the internet trying to find out about terramycin. I had an expert in the field of chickens tell me to double the dose and not to go by what it said on the package.. My rooster was on death door. But now he is healthy, active and beautiful.. I gave him the dose for over 14 days. After the 14 days, his comb is really red now, his color of his feathers are brighter. he prances now. He thinks he is the hottest rooster on the block.. LOL !!

Remember that you have to discard all eggs from treated birds for 2 weeks after treatment, you can't eat or incubate them.

L.A.G is talking about a little chick, not one that is laying eggs yet. How old is this chick? I personnally would not give a young chick an antibiotic if at all possible. What else is this chick doing that you cant explain, maybe someone can offer a different solution. I've had sleepy chicks before and they are usually sleepy due to dehydration. My advice would be to start with drops of poly-vi-sol and to also give water with a little eye dropper. I have used this method with much success, with improvements within one day. It just takes alot of time. I give water at least every 1/2 hour in a case like this. Best of luck.

it will stay to it's self and it will push it's head as far back between it's legs and back up into a corner and it seems likes it sleeps (way too much). it is 4 weeks old today. all the rest of the chicks r just fine.
i can't really explain it good.
I didn't think about dehydration!!! they always have food and clean water. but i'll go see if it will drink for me.
