What causes a pale or purple comb and weakness?

If she is really ill, she should be separated just in case the others turn on her. Soluble aspirin costs pennies, so I would make fresh each day.
I separated her the same day you sent this message. Just haven't been able to get back on to update. 😅

I found Bayer low dose, doesn't say water soluble. Will a crushed tablet in the water work? Also, I'm considering trying corrid. (Her symptoms match coccidiosis, except she was hungry for watermelon until today. Also there is no blood in her poo. It actually looked pretty normal today. Slightly green, but that might be all the melon. 😅) Can that be mixed with aspirin?

The only other thing is systemic infection which needs vet for antibiotics.

Oohhh. What would cause that?

Thanks!

Tried the health checker - her poo has been green. Kidney failure maybe?

She's been standing like this all day (sorry for the weird lighting, used the flash through the wire of the cage):

At this point, I fear the worst. I've never seen a chicken recover once they get "sleepy ".

So, are you saying that Wyandotte's have a short or long life span and are they good egg layers or not.
I too am new at this backyard chicken raising gig.

So far, I'm impressed with the Wyandottes I had. I had a silver Laced and a golden laced. My golden Laced lays extra large eggs but doesnt lay as often as the silver laced did. (Sadly lost my silver Laced earlier this year. Also mine were 2 1/2 years old when I got them, so they weren't laying as often as a younger bird would.) I'm curious about the lifespans of Wyandottes too, I've been thinking of making a post asking about how long different breeds live. I thought I read that they live on average to 5 years old, but I can't find where I read that.

Thank you.

She's no longer able to stand up. She won't eat or drink. Tried getting her to drink with a syringe but she keeps spraying it back at me. I just hope she goes peacefully today at this point.
Sorry to here that, best of luck to you. Our oldest girl is declining too.. It's Heart breaking. Only thing I can get her to react too is fresh worm.

She passed away peacefully the same day I posted that. It's heartbreaking but I also didn't want her to suffer. I have two of her girls, and I'm so glad she gave me them earlier this year before she died. 💖

How is your old girl?
