What causes non-solid markings in Blue Ameraucana

I thought mom and dad were both Blue Ameraucana and this (I think pullet) looks almost exactly like the hen, except for gold showing through. What would cause that? This is a hatched baby from our backyard flock so no true guarantee on the hen but she looks just like the Blue Ameraucana we got from the hatchery.
 
The yellow legs are proof it was an Easter Egger. Don't worry, I also bought a group of seemingly pure blue Ameraucanas looking exactly like Ameraucanas only to find out they were Easter Eggers when crossed one with a Buckeye and half the offspring were not blue or black.
 
The male specific feathers on the shoulders mean this is a cockerel. A lot of different genes can cause leakage, even in otherwise purebred chickens (though not sure how purebred that one is considering the leg color).
