What chicken breed should I get?

What chicken breed should I get: the Ameraucana, the Buff Orpington, or the Barred Plymouth Rock?

Mostly just pets. The lower the eggs the better, the friendlier the better, the cooler looking the better.

Are you limited to the three you listed? If not, then what about silkies? If you are, then I would suggest the Barred Rocks. My three are a lot friendlier then my Easter Eggers, which are probably what you would be getting if you bought what hatcheries and feed stores call Ameracaunas.

Well, actually, I already got mine. Also, Easter Eggers are any chicken who lays green or blue eggs, not Ameraucaunans (it's a common misconception that "Easter Eggers" are Ameracaunas).

I know that Easter Eggers and Ameracaunas are not the same. What I said was that feed stores and hatcheries will sell Easter Eggers AS Ameracaunas.

I like all three breeds. I had an EE and she was pretty friendly, but not extremely so. My buff orp. that I have now is a sweet heart. My neighbor has over 10 BR's and they are good birds as well.

It really depends on how much time you spend with the bird. It ranges from bird to bird. But all three breeds are know to be generally friendly.
