What chickens do you want??

I sort of had the same idea and the more I thought about the longer the breed list became. Old stand- bys like delawares, rir and other great laying breeds are cheapest from hatcheries but stay popular for those wanting eggs. More people are getting into chickens as just a hobby so the bantams sell to their range of folks too. Anything that looks different catches the eye so are more likely to be impulse buys. But since I am so different from many people I am attracted to the harder to find/ rare breeds. Spur interest by bringing in something folks in your area don't have yet. Every few years change out to a new 'folks around here don't have them' breed.
