My first question is, how are batnams with laying? I really want some because my hen is on the smaller side and.. well they are just cute How is there egg production? Will a full grown rooster hurt them? Are they good pets? Give me all you know! i have a 5 month old roo and a small 5 month old hen... i will be giving them other companions and im not sure if i want silver laced wyndottes or the ones that look just like that that are batnams (cant remember name...)

For me personally I do not like Bantam Hens with larger Roosters. They have tore them up to the point where I had to separate my 2 and give them to some younger kid who was doing 4-H or something like that. My bantams had nothing compare to my Auraucanas or my Red Sex Links on Egg production If you are wanting a pet then try but raise them with full size chicks so they have "Friends in the Flock" if you understand.

What breed do you have now?
How many Chickens do you want?
What kind of Egg Production are you wanting varies from breeds?
Do you have the space to Brood chicks?
Any Extreme Temps hot or cold constantly?
General area?

i suggest getting 5 of every breed!

I love bantams...they are not the best layers but then again...I am not the best chicken raiser so we call it even

What breed do you have now?
EE and unknown, friendly docile tiny white hen...

How many Chickens do you want?
I have room for 10.. but between 5 and 8 would be good..

What kind of Egg Production are you wanting varies from breeds?
I dont really care... 2 or three eggs a day would be cool.. but its more a hobby...

Do you have the space to Brood chicks?
I have enough room for 10 chickens (coop is 8 by 10 and can be bigger... (i have a storage area) )

Any Extreme Temps hot or cold constantly?
Just rain. rain rain. Not really below freezing often..

General area?
Washington skagit area...

If I had a choice between normal chicks and Batman chicks I would for sure choose the Batman chicks. Think how cool it would be to have Batman chicks! Little black rubber suits...chicken utility belts...black jet powered chicken sports cars...chicken butlers with English accents!

i think bantams make better starter chickens... but they don't lay those huge tasty eggs... but need less room, half the noise, and look a lot prettier sometimes... well to me...

I have both, love the eggs of the full sized, love the look of the bantams. my bantam rooster struts around like he is 3 foot tall and sounds like he is sucking a balloon full of helium before he crows.

8x10 coop, you can fit a lot more than 10 birds in there.

I love Sebrights! Their feathering is so in intricate. My husband likes the Silver Sebrights best. My little roo would crow so hard he nearly fell over backwards. The OEG cross roo would throw a hissy every time the Lil'Dude would crow. OEG stomped his feet, ran back and forth along the fence and made noises I believe were chicken swear words. The hens laid a small to medium egg on a daily basis.

With a coop that big you could divide it up for a bunch of different bantam breeds.
