Hi there!
I recently hatched out a few Indian runner ducklings. They all have that mallard pattern, but one is much lighter than the rest. Any idea what color it is?

Thanks!

I considered that too, but then they wouldn’t have that mallard pattern, right?
I really don't know about that. My babies parents were both fawn/white although I ended up with one penciled and one all white of of that hatch. Their grandparents where one all white and one penciled.

The little yellow one looks like my fawn/whites did when they were tiny. Your other 2 have a completely different pattern than any of mine did.

Thank you! I do hope she’s a fawn/White, I love those!

@chickens really

I purchased the eggs from someone, according to them these are what their flock consists of: 2 grey mallard drakes, 2 white drakes, 1 penciled (female), 4 mallard(females).

They did say they once got a black duckling even though none of the parents are black, so they said they must have some hidden genes too to produce that.

Well then all Ducks should turn out with a Mallard pattern..
