What color are these crazy silkies??? Pic intensive.

Well he's kind of lightly buff all over, in spots. Not just the back and wings. Just the back and wings are more obvious in the photo.

So now what do I do with dominant white?

I've seen some really lovely partridge birds (yes Gonzo is lovely, say did you ever decide on a name for the other one?) But I don't want them in a mixed breeding colony. The resulting chicks are usually a muddy mess from what I've seen.

Yay. someone does love my partridge showgirls. LOL. BONZAI is the other, remember? come on now, time to pay attention.

Still not sure if Bonzai is hen or roo.....thinking roo still. Big comb and wattles. Gonzo has no comb yet.
I know mixing the pen is no way to breed, I was just harassing you guys about color. Meringue is cute, if she is only 6 weeks, it may change tons...if not, it can go in the non breeder pen if a hen. More to love, I say.

Hmmm so if he's very dilute buff, would I be ahead of the game of getting buff showgirls, if I bred him to a buff silkie?

I don't think so. Cream and isabel silkies are diluted from buff, and do not look like this at all. You can't (in amy way that I know) dilute SOME of the buff feathering, but not all of it. I agree, it may not be a pyle pattern, but that is not the only way an I/i+ bird could/would show red/gold.
