Thanks! He does have a bit of mud on him. He likes to roll in it. He was a solid yellow ling, not sure if that makes a difference.silver or lav barred. probably silver as I'm seeing a bit of color variation.

Ya, all barred are born solid yellow except for the tip of the tail. The tip of the tail usually tells you the color. If he feathers in one solid color head to tail with a slightly purple cast, that is lav. Light blue with variations of color on head and tail is probably silver. Thanks! aww... They sure are cute. But, no that color on the back doesn't mean they'll have a saddle. Just a weird thing some barred ducks get. They are precious tho.View attachment 1503195
He’s the yellow one at the top. The one below him I was told would be white with a blue saddle. But she’s barred too.
Oh I absolutely love them. These ones all have names.aww... They sure are cute. But, no that color on the back doesn't mean they'll have a saddle. Just a weird thing some barred ducks get. They are precious tho.
four spots and an eye stripe. It's called "wild type". They get more random white than atipico ducks (ones that don't have dots and eye stripes), but otherwise it only shows in the chicks.Oh I absolutely love them. These ones all have names.
Batch 2 I’m waiting to find out genders. There are 2 chocolate pied and 3 black pied. View attachment 1503308
What did the 4 dot thing mean?
These ones are good jumpers. They spend the night in the garage and day outside. Currently building them a bigger pen.

Ah ok, I remember you saying something about it in another thread but wasn’t sure if it was a bad thing or not. So I have 1 wild type and the rest are atipico?four spots and an eye stripe. Yep. You only have one wild type. It's not bad. It's just that some people prefer solid colored or evenly marked birds and wild type tend to be a little more random with the white as adults.Ah ok, I remember you saying something about it in another thread but wasn’t sure if it was a bad thing or not.
