I am in the process of finishing my coop.... Today I have biting mesquitoes, biting flys and bees. I hit two of my fingers with the hammer....

now I have come inside in defeat.

I was just pondering what color I should paint my coop... it is a barn like structure. but I do not want to paint it red. My home and garage out back are tan. but painting it tan... seems a bit dull.

:th:th What do you all suggest.... I sure like the signs... I have to think about a good one.

mine is like a rainbow...

I used mistinted paints from home depot so the floor is a mauve pink colour

the interior walls are stained redwood and the exterior is grey..lol

Here's what I painted ours. Left over trim paint from our house. I guess I'm dull.

I'm building a new coop too. (8X12) My husband is making me build it so I don't ask for any more coops. (it's working too - darn things a pain in the rear) I was ready to shoot myself just trying to lay out the wall with the door and window opening.

Paint it Navy Blue and trim it out in Tan from your outbuildings. That way it is all tied together, but the chicken coop is special. I wouldn't paint it white or you will never find it in deep snow.

I am using semi-transparent stain on mine in dogwood...otherwise known as pink.

The trim will be white.

I painted mine with old paint we had in the basement that is at least 20 years old, the white trim paint is not that old but still came from the basement:
