I need to paint my coop. A friend suggested "Barnyard Red" but I'm not sure that would fit my coop. Here are a few pics of it. Tell me what you think fits it best!!!
I just found my paint last night. Since it was RAINING in JULY I stayed in to inventory my paint and decide what colors to use on my new coop.
The current plan:
Interior: sunny yellow with green trim (the moulding is there to hide flaws!)
Exterior: vivid turquoise with white trim
All of the paint is leftover from other projects (some of it I don't even know where it came from... I think the turquoise came witht the house... but there is nothing that color on the property!) The whole coop is scraps and reclaimed materials, adding up to a total cost of $0. Two weeks of work and counting, but no money spent yet on a 5' x 5' coop with a 10' x 20' run!
Mine is white because my township regulations state that any accessory buildings be painted the same color as our main structure, unless they were built before the regs took effect. I will be painting the trim barn red though, the color I wanted to paint the whole thing until the zoning inspector told what color it had to be when I got my building permit ;o)
Added an extension onto mine (I think the original 8x8 is shown on page 3 of this thread) and I'm having my house painted now (it was in dire need of it) - I chose a dark blue-grey color... and then spent this weekend repainting the coop the same color. Still need to do the trim though...
