I have two identical bantam cochins, both roos. They are now 8 weeks old. I thought mama was my splash hen, turns out it was one of the red girls. Daddy is black or splash. This is what I got—but what color is it? And how did I get it, i.e. who is the daddy? Fluff and undersides are blue. Is this lemon-blue?

WOW! how cool!
I can't really tell what color though, a pic from the side would be helpful

From that pic, he almost looks like he has female silver duckwing coloration. A pic from the side will help.

I will post a new photo tomorrow if I survive the field trip with my grandson's 3rd grade class. A friend took these for me today, so this is all I have for now. His hackles are coming in more gold than his chest, and underfluff and tail are mostly blue.

I know some people are working on lemon blue cochins, but can't find a picture anywhere of what they're supposed to look like!

This probably doesn' t help for now, but here is the other photo:

I survived the field trip with the 3rd grade today, so have an update for my bantam cochin roo. Here is a side view from this evening, what do you think? (the bird behind him is a dark blue laced red wyandotte)

Here's the view from the top, with twin brother in background:
