Hi! I have a year old d'Uccle Roo that I got from a TSC bantam bin last year. His coloring has confused me since he started getting tail feathers. he mostly looks Porcelain, but then his tail throws me.

I know absolutely nothing of chicken color genetics, but in dogs I didn't think a true blue dog could have black coloring? Or do chickens have merle? Anyways, I'll attach a pic of Pigeon and would love to hear your opinions on his coloring.
Thanks!
Moni

Thank you for checking him out! Do you think it'll be ok to hatch eggs from him? Right now I have two d'Uccle Roos and debating who to keep since they are getting feisty with each other.
Chad is my little Mille Fleur boy, but Pigeon is a little more docile. They're both handleable by me and my kids. Thanks!

It would be fine to. I suspect his genes will come from his porcelain side but we'll see!

Hello! I know it been a couple months since you posted your question, and you might’ve already gotten rid of one of your Roos, but I’d personally keep the porcelain. Not only is it rare for chimeras, but because he’s porcelain, he can be used to breed both porcelain and Mille fleur chicks! Hes also really handsome!
