What color is this Ameraucana? Or is it one?

Well everyone. Thanks for the help. Here is what the hatchery said. “These two are either Ameraucanas or Whiting True Blues. The black one is a very unusual color ive not seen. Pretty”

So anyone’s guess but they are not EE according to them. ;-)

They don't sell ameraucanas. A lot of hatcheries sell what they label as ameraucanas, but they're not. Often they spell it like "Americana" instead of the correct spelling.
So pretty much what they told you is that they're either whitings true blues (which also aren't really a breed either, though they share similar characteristics between birds) or they're easter eggers. Even the picture they use for their 'ameraucanas' on their website are clearly easter eggers. Take one of those to a show and try to enter it as an ameraucana and you'd get disqualified and laughed out.

In fact, even their website says they are mixed breeds:

"Our chicks have some Araucana and some Ameraucana breeding mixed"

They just continue to call them ameraucanas despite that.

The birds you have fit the definition of easter eggers - a bird that lays a blue or green egg (usually) but is not one of the defined breeds that do so. That's all an easter egger is.

yeah. I see that now. This site has been great for a beginner like me. Love the colors regardless of breed.
