I get what you’re saying. It just came off harsh to me.
If OP thought it was partridge and bred the bird the outcome wouldn’t be what they probably hoped for.
The down color is different, which can be used as a clue. Partridge have fairly distinct down colors and patterns, though it is different in different breeds due to genes at other loci. If the OP bred the bird at all, the outcome would be variable, no consistency, since the genes at each loci are different in many places.
