I was at a farm store buying some poultry feed today and there were about 15 Buff Columbian D’Uccles— I’m assuming they were some hobby breeder’s culls but I’m currently considering driving by tomorrow & buying a trio. What caught my attention more was this little Rosecomb pullet that I just *had* to have. I know she’s purebred but I don’t know what variety she is. I’d greatly appreciate it if someone could tell me what color variety she is. Her body from the shoulders down is blue with good lacing and her her hackles are red. Her earlobes and her rosecomb are just coming in. Her legs are a really dark slate—almost black.
I’m thinking that she’s either a Lemon Blue, a Blue Red, or possibly a Blue Brassy Back? I don’t know really, I have a hard time identifying color varieties—especially in gamey chickens.
