I've recently acquired a retiring breeder's large fowl Araucana flock and in the lot was this unique triple tufted cockbird. The breeder has not intentionally bred duckwings or BBRs in at least a decade - but she said the past couple years she hatches one or two (not on purpose). To me, he looks like an off-colored gold duckwing. She did not think he was duckwing, but couldn't really decide on a color to call him. She only kept him around as a novelty, and he was a favorite of her grandson's. She had not done any test breeding with him. She shared his chick pic with me - and I was surprised to see he was NOT a duckwing patterned chick. What would you call his color, and what could I expect to produce between him and the BBR hen at the end of the video?

His chick pic:

Triple Tufts and the BBR hen:

If bred to the BBR and I line breed the offspring, can I get back to gold duckwing in the first breed back to this cock? (Daughter pullets back to Triple Tufts).
Yes
First crossing will give you
Black w/ silver leakage pullets
Black with red gold leakage pullets
Red silver duckwing pullets
BBR pullets
Black w/ red golden leakage cockerels
Black w/ red gold leakage cockerels
Red golden duckwing cockerels
Red silver duckwing cockerels

A red gold duckwing pullet bred back to Triple Tufts makes
Black with red gold leakage pullets
Black with red silver leakage pullets
Black with gold leakage pullets
Black with silver leakage pullets
BBR pullets
Gold duckwing pullets
Red silver duckwing pullets
Silver duckwing pullets
Black with red golden leakage cockerels
Black with red gold leakage cockerels
Black with golden leakage cockerels
Black with gold leakage cockerels
Red golden duckwing cockerels
BBR cockerels
Golden duckwing cockerels
Gold duckwing cockerels

So, essentially, a big mess that you really would hate to comb through.

The rooster is E/e+ and the female is e+/e+(salmon breast) but seems to have a hackel melainzer, perhaps melanotic, better pics of the female is required
Oh yeah. I didn't even see the hen in the video. It may be nearly impossible to find birds without melanisers in the offspring.
