IF it was a true Wheaten it would Black down/ undertone (this birds is Blue/ Grey) and with the Blue/ish down/ undertone
that would make it more of a "Blue Wheaten" than a Wheaten...

It's just that she has the Mahogany gene and leaks black as a result of the Black Copper parentage. Underneath that, it's a Wheaten Marans. There's no blue involved in this case, though I can see how one would get the impression. If my digital camera was not busted, I would take some detailed photos, but my cell phone cam is not up to the task.
For somebody so inclined, I think these birdies are potentially very valuable members of a Wheaten breeding program (introducing Black Coppers' egg color genetics into a Wheaten flock). That's why I'm happy to have one.
