I have a lf cochin I hatched from a set of blue lf cochin eggs several years ago. He had a bit of gold in his neck right away but it has gotten progressively more prominent and is now really gorgeous. He's about 3 years old (missing an eye & has an evil looking spur - good thing he has a lovely disposition....).
I'd like to tinker with the genetics calculators to see if I have any hens that would be fun to put with him but can't quite nail down the color.
My friend told me she thought he was lemon black but I'm not convinced. Does anyone else want to weigh in?
