hi
I hatched this chick from light Columbian male and female
the father is cross( light Columbian male with buff Columbian female)
will the chick be just buff and she is female?
the color on the back is not like all the buff chicks in the web, could be something with buff?

first you need to refrase your question: is the Male(father of chick) light columbian colored? is the Male a light columbian x buff columbian cross?

what color is the female(mother of chick)?

if the Male is a light columbian(silver columbian) and the female is buff columbian the the chick is going to be silver columbian if is a female chick, it will look just like normal silver columbian.

if the chick is a male then it will also resemble a silver columbian male BUT it will have yellow colored hackles and saddles.

the reason the chick does not look like normal buff chick(like buff orps or buff cochins) is due to the fact that he this chick e allele is different from the self buff birds(buff orps and buff cochins) the e allele found on this self buff birds is the Wheaten allele which is yellow/cream colored(seach for salmon faverolles chick pics, they are wheaten based) and your chicks e allele is eb brown(also known as partridge) want to know how the partridge chick e allele looks like? search for partridge wyandotte chicks pics on google

I hope this helps

thank you
light Columbian male with some yellow crossed with light Columbian female.

the father of the chick is cross, his mother is buff Columbian or could be partridge and the father is light Columbian.
about the chick mother she is light Columbian from light blood
