what color will my EE chick turn out as an adult?

are you referring to my roo?

A silver columbian duckwing? I thought he was mixed with Delaware? He has a V comb also, and missing a toenail, something I read is inherited in Delawares.

My chick started out white, and turned into this!

If he does have Delaware behind him, still, he is as I mentioned. When you mix Columbian (what Delawares have) with duckwing it turns to look a lot like normal Columbians in males. Especially if they're silver. If he weren't silver, he'd have prolific duckwing-like red and yellow.

But if there was Delaware he's half Wheaten too, but still, has duckwing in him. If he didn't have the Columbian he'd look like a normal duckwing.

Solid white chicks can turn out to be white, red pyle, white w/leakage, splash or blue wheaten, etc etc.

White w/black dots on random areas are often white w/leakage.

Delawares don't have V combs or a "missing toe" though

Don't know where ya heard that.

Got ya...not sure where I read that about the toe nail...but he is missing one since I got him as a 2 day old...I got him and my other 2 roos from a woman with a 'hatchery'...term used loosely!
I have NO idea what he is mixed with...thanks for the explanation...I did re home him...3 roos were too many for my flock.

Here is what I got. OF course, it is just like a box of chocolate.. you never know what you are going to get, but it's a lot of fun guessing!

I saw your post last night so I took this pic for you today. I had a chick hatch with similar colors... we should call him spot cuz that is what it looked like he had. He is a Lav Am roo x California White. He has a few black feathers here and there. White with leakage... Lav split... may have to make some EE x Leghorns and breed him to them and see if I get some good laying EE. Guess all those ee are lav splits... never thought about it.... interesting.... hummmmmmmm

Really neat pictures. It sure does seem to be a box of chocolates. I have thirty chicks right now and am going nuts trying to figure out what's going to happen.

But hey, who doesn't like chocolate right?
