What colour is this chick?

I agree. Those chickens look blue, which should not be possible from the listed colors of parents. So maybe one of the parents is a very dark blue, pretending to be black?

If there are any other roosters and hens available, maybe one sneaked into the wrong pen and mated with someone else? Or maybe a few eggs got put in the wrong basket?

@NatJ here are some picture updates of the two chicks . Any thoughts on colour?

Please note , the wc cuckoo was not laying at the time. She lays a very unique egg and I’m 100% sure she wasn’t laying yet. The self black also is not laying yet , and she has gold laced under the black.

Those chicks look blue to me, and the parents look black (pure not-blue) to me.
Genetically, that should not be possible.

@The Moonshiner I remember you're good with blues. Any idea what is going on here? I was expecting to find a parent that is actually dark blue rather than black, but I cannot spot it in the photos.
