Ok orp experts....I hatched out this baby the other day from my lav project roo and either a lav hen or lav carrying black hen. It has flesh colored legs and beak. It's down in very pale cream with a lav spot on its head and one large spot on its back.

What do you think? Mottled? Defective? Something all together different?

They are mottled. We had mentioned quite some time ago that we identified mottling in our lavender project. There is a page on it on our web site that shows how they feather in (both black and lavender). There are also numerous posts on here discussing it if you do a search.
